Another WordPress widget I wrote and use is ‘Broadway Quotes’. It displays the quote of the day in a sidebar widget. It caches and shows the same quote all day long.
The widget gets the quote by calling the api at the ‘Lectric Lar’s Show Tunes in the Afternoon site. Two classes are referenced, for your convenience, but are not defined. ‘broadway_quote’ and ‘broadway_quote_by’ are available if you wish to control the formatting.
