Back in December 2010, we at WUMD started using OMTASL to keep the showlog area filled with the latest promos. (See the original article.) I updated the program with a few new features in April 2011. (See that article.) I’ve recently made a couple of changes to help encourage better rotation of the promos.
The new option allows single programs and causes two effects when enabled.
First, when omitting any promo that has been played within a certain number of hours, it will additionally omit any other promos for the same program. So if a program has several promos, maybe because of having a show shared amongst several DJs, whenever one of the promos is played and is blocked for the lockout period, all the other promos for that program will also be blocked.
The second effect limits any program having multiple promos to having only one promo available to play. The least recently played promo for the program is selected. This should help to get each of the different promos for any program played, making for a better sounding rotation.
So in summary, with single programs enabled, only one promo from any multiple promo program will appear in the showlog, or none it one of them has been recently played.
