Just thought you’d like to know that WUMD is a member of the Pacifica network. During the week we air “Democracy Now” and “Free Speech Radio News” at 11am and 6pm, respectively. That’s just two of the programs that are retrieved Monday through Friday with PODGrabber.
Other programs include “This Way Out”, “Exploration” and “Law and Disorder”. You can see the complete and current schedule over here and over here.
Except for “State of the Queer Nation” all of the public affairs programing is from podcasters. This is one reason why it’s important that podcasters be aware of what re-broadcasters run into when retrieving and setting up to air their programs. I could spend many hours just downloading and importing these programs into our automation system. Using all the tools you see mentioned on this site, I’ve been able to “automate” most of the functions. The smoother everything runs, the more we can handle. I only have to deal with the “exceptions” or problems as they arise.
Which reminds me, I learned many years ago about the technique of “dealing with the exceptions” from an associate, Stuart Greenberg. Handle the mainline, and check for and deal with exceptions as they come up. Something like that. I’m sure he can clarify it on HIS blog!
