Maybe you’ve made those crispy rice treats. You know, the cereal and marshmallow ones. I have, but always dreaded the cleanup afterwards. Even when using butter or a spray non-stick product, the pan I used to melt the marshmallows and mix in the the cereal always ends up a mess and hard to clean.
After the last batch I made, I came up with a plan to clean up faster, and with less elbow grease, and it worked!
After pouring the mixture into the flat lasagna dish (you might call it by a different name) and flattening and pressing it into a nice shape, I set that aside and turned my attention to the pan. I filled it with warm water, and put it back on the stove, and let it come to a boil. I actually walked away for a few minutes, and when I returned, the pan had practically cleaned itself! Everything had melted and was dissolved into the water, with nothing stuck on the sides or bottom! I dumped it into the sink, did a final wipe with a sponge and then rinsed and placed to dry.
Next, I cut out a few treats to enjoy while they were still warm. You know, that is the best time to cut them to snack size with the least amount of crumbs and waste.
