You’re getting great reviews on the release of your latest project. Customers are sending you unsolicited testimonials praising your work. Of course, you want to share these accolades with the world. Not all at once of course. One at a time, so the reader can absorb the deep meaning of each glowing tribute. What you need is a ‘testimonial’ post-type for your WordPress blog.
Here it is! A post-type to collect your testimonials, and a widget and shortcode to display them.
The widget will display rotating testimonials in a sidebar panel. You can specify how many to rotate, and the interval (in seconds) between rotations.
The shortcode also allows rotating a specified number of testimonials at a given interval, but also allows you to display a specific testimonial, by id.
For example, to only show testimonial number 798, use:
[ testimonial id=798 ]
Showing a rotating group of 10 at 30 seconds intervals:
[ testimonial count=10 interval=30 ]
That’s all there is to it!
Oh, once installed “Testimonials” will appear on the admin menu. All the standard functions, are available. The “content” is displayed as the testimonial, and there are some fields where you enter the giver’s name, position, company, and a link to the company site.
You know what would be nice? Send ME a testimonial [1], and I’ll display it here. Thanks!
