With so many DJs at WUMD, and the variety of genres, we figured we needed a way to keep them informed about the status of cuts being loaded into the OMT iMediatouch On-Air automation. Thus, OMTCR was born, which simply reports the number of cuts in each category, and optionally, the number of those cuts which have been played once, twice or three times. The report can be automatically emailed or ftp’d as desired.
Here is a short sample of the output:
Category Count Plyd x 1 Plyd x 2 Plyd x 3 ------------------- ----- ---------- ---------- ---------- AFR: AFRICAN WORLD 1261 308/ 24% 13/ 1% ALT: ALTERNATIVE 4341 3920/ 90% 2977/ 68% 1899/ 43% ANR: ALTERNATIVE-NR 440 385/ 87% 107/ 24% 13/ 2% BLU: BLUES 513 209/ 40% 209/ 40% 209/ 40% BNR: BLUES-NR 20 0/ 0% ELE: ELECTRONIC 386 361/ 93% 330/ 85% 303/ 78% ENR: ELECTRONIC-NR 107 9/ 8% FLK: FOLK 363 283/ 77% 281/ 77% 278/ 76% JAZ: JAZZ 1469 1089/ 74% 768/ 52% 685/ 46%
Configuration options let you select which categories to suppress from the report, and where to email the report once generated. A command line option allows you to report only the actual cuts counts, and not show the played counts and percentages.
Since most of the new release cuts and production work is done on Monday, the report is generated Tuesday morning and mailed to the DJ group.
